Growing Power for Justice Workshop
Our third POCKET FUSE is at Golders Green Unitarians on Saturday 10 May 2025. As we build justice programmes in our congregations and communities, it’s important to learn how to build connections, advocate for change, and discern strategies and opportunities. It will be led by Blue Weiss, Victor Anderson and Rev’d CJ McGregor. There is no cost to attend this event with a vegan lunch provided.

Blue Weiss
is a lead organizer for Citizens UK campaigning for social justice. In London and the South East Citizens UK has welcomed and resettled refugees; improved housing in several communities; successfully negotiated with TfL to secure improved transport and safety; and supported local employers in becoming accredited real Living Wage employers, paying their staff the London Living Wage. Blue will engage with the issues of injustice and how to create change with things you care about in your local community.

Victor Anderson
worked in the House of Commons for 8 years as a researcher for a Unitarian MP (Cynog Dafis in Ceredigion). He was an elected member of the London Assembly, has worked in Whitehall, got arrested for Extinction Rebellion, and is currently involved in lobbying MPs on climate change and is Vice-Chair of the Unitarian Social Justice Network. Victor will offer a session on helping us make our voices heard, on parliamentary processes, and the stages a bill goes through, and how to write a Parliamentary Question.
Rev. CJ McGregor
will offer a session introducing three common strategies in social justice leadership and organization: the prophetic, parallel and institutional. The prophetic voices speak out against the era’s conventions and are often marginalized or considered ahead of their time, with a strong vision of a better future. Parallel voices advocate for an alternative to the established structure, a new system to replace what is deemed broken. The institutional voices seek to work within established power structures to change them from within.
